Client Profile – August 2022!

Recently I have been trying to think of ways to help other small businesses realise that they are not alone.

Sometimes it can be daunting or feel disappointing to ask for help, when really it is not something to be ashamed by! Running a business is hard work, especially as businesses grow, they often become too large for just one person to do on their own.

Asking for help could be the change you, your business and your clients needed.

Therefore I thought I would start doing some client profiles for others to read.

This month’s client profile is – Lucy from Lucy in the Sky Jewels.

Lucy runs a bespoke jewelry company in Goulburn NSW offering personalised jewelry for those in search of something for a special occasion, or just because. Her designs are customized specially to your needs and her stones and materials are sourced from all across the world – just for you.

Why did you look for administrative help?

I was starting to do in my business the complete opposite of what I set out to do. Disappoint people.

Disappoint people with no replies, confused replies, late deadlines etc. You get the idea. My business was growing but I didn’t know how to manage it. It was sink or swim. I needed assistance for my business to survive and that’s when I reached out.

Do you think the extra expense of paying for administrative help, outweighs the time it would take for you to complete the tasks?

100%.

Kaitlin can do what she is good at it in a quarter of the time that I can do it. So when I actually thought about it…..it’s cheaper than not getting the help at all.

If I were to tackle an admin task, the opportunity cost of that is – that I take far too long to complete a simple task and at the same time – not able to complete any other tasks that I am proficient at. It could be days or even weeks lost with zero income (but bills still rolling in) because I was faced with trying to sort the administrative tasks myself.

I got myself into quite the pickle. Too much work but still no money. If I outsource and pay the right people for the right job, it actually works out cheaper! As Kaitlin can complete jobs in a quarter of the time that I can. Allowing me to focus on other projects.

Do you have any tips or suggestions for someone who may be struggling with their administration?

Reach out.

At least ask the question. I didn’t know half the things that Kaitlin was capable of and I didn’t know it was even a service that was on offer until I asked. If she can help – she certainly will.

I hope this helps you or someone you know, know that it is okay to ask for help.

Thank you.

-Kaitlin-
