I have just done a small ‘spring clean’ on my home office! It’s only a small desk as I often work from any room, my car, my phone or anywhere that I need. And whilst doing it I came up with a few office hacks.
Being in admin/organisation you would’ve thought my office was in tip top shape. It was an organised mess, I knew where everything was. Then I thought, what if was sick or away & needed Corey to help with something, he wouldn’t have a clue where to look.
When cleaning up I came across a few ideas I thought might help you out.
*Expanding Folders: Get rid of them, you really only need one small one for important documents like Birth Certs. Everything else can be scanned & saved in easy to use folders.
*Backing Up: Back your computer files up on a hard drive OR in the cloud to ensure they are safe from emergencies.
*Labels: Use stickers, labels from kmart, dymo etc. Stick on cupboard shelves, boxes, files. Then you can easily find what you are after & others know where you have it stored.
*Bin/Shredder: Ripping up paper and putting in the bin is something I didn’t realise how much I did until I bought this little shredder. As well as this, I didn’t realise how much paperwork I kept filed that I didn’t need, because I didn’t want to just throw it out.
*Pre sort: Using these IKEA trays you can put them in a draw or secure to a wall/cupboard. Pre sort your paperwork before scanning or filing – SO MUCH EASIER/NEATER.
Hope these office hacks help you!
